Either way, I think Battlefront is more of an authentic experience in that you’re living Star Wars through the eyes of a soldier and that’s neat.ĮA recently released the Battle of Jakku map for free, which showed us what happened to the planet 29 years before the events of The Force Awakens. A story mode along the lines of a random rebel ground troop during the events of Episode V could have been cool, but alas, all we got were the co-op missions. No other Star Wars game has made me feel like I was actually on the battlefront (heh) alongside my fellow Rebels, but there could have been something more. Many think that it’s the best Star Wars experience they’ve had in a video game, while others think that it’s a hollow shell of what it could have been. It also set up a ton of new storylines and hinted at events of the last thirty years that remain somewhat of a mystery in the new canon that will be exciting to explore.īattlefront is a polarizing game. I will say, though, that The Force Awakens, in my humble opinion, did everything it needed to do to recapture what Star Wars is and rekindled the excitement I haven’t felt since I was a wee lad. What a great movie, right? If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything you haven’t seen in the trailers.
